<para>&kde; har mange programmer, ofte med præfixet (eller indeholdende) bogstavet K. Navnene er i almindelighed selvforklarende, men det kan alligevel sommetider være svært at finde en passende pakke. Ved overførsel fra operativsystemer såsom <trademark class="registered">Microsoft Windows</trademark> eller <trademark class="registered">Apple Macintosh</trademark> kan visse besværligheder opstå med at finde et program til et bestemt job.
