<para><acronym>KDEAP</acronym> (&kde; Accessibility Project) heeft als doel om er voor te zorgen dat &kde; als desktop environment toegankelijk is voor alle gebruikers, inclusief gebruikers met een lichamelijke beperking. Aanvullend op de toegankelijkheidshulpmiddelen in het <link linkend="kcontrol-regional-and-accessibility">Configuratiecentrum</link> heeft &kde; diverse andere hulpprogramma's. Deze zijn beschikbaar in het pakket &kde;accessibility. Dit pakket is mogelijk niet geïnstalleerd op uw computer. Het vergroot het gebied van het scherm rond de muisaanwijzer, of, optioneel, een door u opgegeven gebied. Daarnaast kan het een vergroot gedeelte als schermafbeelding op de schijf opslaan. </para>

Het biedt bovendien ondersteuning voor gebruikergedefinieerde uitdrukkingenboeken. </para>

<title><application>KTTS</application> - tekst-tot-spraak</title>
<para><application>KTTS</application> is een &kde;-programma waarmee u tekst kunt omzetten in spraak. Momenteel, sinds &kde; 3.4, kunt u <application>KTTS</application> gebruiken om tekst uit te spreken die afkomstig is van &klipper;, het klembord van &kde;, uit tekstbestanden (met behulp van bijvoorbeeld &kate;), &HTML;-pagina's in &konqueror;, PDF-bestanden in KPDF en nog veel meer.</para>
<para>U start <application>KTTSD</application> door <command>kttsmgr</command> aan te roepen. kttsmgr is de Tekst-tot-spraakbeheerder van &kde;.</para>
